Institute of Technology Blanchardstown
Introduction:
The Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB), Ireland's newest Institute of Technology opened in September 1999. Since then over €50m has been invested in developing the purpose-build campus. ITB has now firmly established itself as an important third level educational Institute in Ireland this year, there is over 1,100 full-time students.

ITB's mission is to serve its students and the community by meeting the skills needs in the economy and increasing the level of participation in third-level education and training in Dublin North-West.
We will do this:

By achieving consistently high standards of relevance and quality in teaching, research, development and consultancy, and

By offering a welcoming and supportive environment to students from all educational and social backgrounds, and to adults wishing to increase or update their level of technical skills.
Academic Information:
The Institute has two Schools - School of Informatics and Engineering and School of Business and Humanities which provides a variety of programmes of study to students. The students in the Institute can study a range of Higher Certificate/Ordinary Bachelor Degrees and Honours Bachelor Degrees in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computing, Digital Media, Business, Languages, Sports Management and Coaching, Horticulture and Applied Social Care.
The Institute has developed a comprehensive part-time Adult and Continuing Education Programme, with courses commencing in September and January each year. Further information on these courses is available directly from the Institute at www.itb.ie
Library Facilities
ITB has a fully resourced purpose-built library, which plays a core role in academic life. It supports educational and research activity by providing a comprehensive information service. Journals and book collections cover a wide range of subject areas. While the stock is mostly based on academic subjects, there are also sections devoted to cultural and social activities.

Sporting Facilities
Along with having its own playing pitches, ITB has its own fully equipped fitness suite and sports hall. The Sports Development Officer works closely with students to determine particular interests and strengths. A comprehensive sporting programme has been developed for students which will include participation in appropriate higher education and inter-institutional competitions and leagues.
An exciting student life has developed within the ITB campus. The many cultural and social student societies and the student sporting clubs provide an outlet for personal and social development, which is an integral part of the third level experience.
