Trinity College Dublin is also placed 36th on a list of universities ranked for chemistry in the first global rankings by subject for environmental sciences, with other Irish universities also appearing in the top 200 for a number of science subjects.

Trinity College Dublin's 15th place in maths out of more than 600 of the world’s top third level institutions places it between well known US universities Columbia and Cornell, in a table topped by Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In addition to a 36th-place ranking for chemistry, Trinity is 49th for physics and in the top 150 for earth sciences.
