UCD invites applications from prospective PhD students for a number of graduate programmes offered through the TCD-UCD Innovation Alliance and funded through the Programme for Research at Third Level Institutions Cycle 5, administered by the HEA.  EU fees will be paid for four years, and an annual stipend of €16,000 will be available.  As part of the Innovation Academy, courses will be provided in business development, intellectual property and entrepreneurship. Through the Academy the students will be better equipped to identify the commercial value of their research and invention, and be more attuned to realising the value of intellectual property. Discipline specific research projects will also form the substantive part of each of the programmes below:

• Dublin Graduate Programme in Physics
• Earth Systems Institute Structured PhD – Earth and Natural Sciences
• Graduate Research Education Programme in Engineering
• Telecommunications Graduate Initiative
• Molecular Medicine Ireland Clinical and Translational Research Scholars Programme
• Structured PhD Programme in Molecular and Cellular Mechanisms underlying inflammatory processes
